PIWOT Satellite Conference Visit to IIT Bhubaneswar

The Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar was established on July 22, 2008, and spans 936 acres of land at the base of the historically significant Barunei Hill. The campus offers a peaceful, pollution-free environment conducive to academic pursuits. IIT Bhubaneswar is a lush green campus having a diverse range of exotic and native deciduous and coniferous trees, including tall, long-life trees, flowering and medicinal plants, fruit trees, as well as palm and pine species. To promote sustainability, the campus is equipped with rooftop and surface rainwater harvesting systems, a waste management facility, and a wastewater recycling plant.
Guests will have opportunity to visit several notable research centers on campus such as the Virtual and Augmented Reality Centre of Excellence, Saraswati 2.0 (focusing on technologies for decentralized wastewater treatment and resource recovery), the Centre for Renewable Energy & Materials Research, and facilities for electric vehicle manufacturing and battery storage. The Research and Entrepreneurship Park offers opportunities for interaction with over 50 start-up teams.
We will welcome 1:1 sessions with faculty and researchers at IIT Bhubaneswar that are engaged in cutting-edge research in areas such as the mechanistic-empirical design of jute geotextile-reinforced pavements for rural roads, the development of controlled interferometry-based industrial flow measurement devices, bandwidth enhancement of planar antennas using electromagnetic bandgap structures, AI-based district-scale heavy rainfall prediction in North-East India, high-performance RF inductors, and hazard assessment of moss movement in the Himalayas.
Visitors can also explore nearby attractions like the UNESCO World Heritage Site Konark Sun Temple, Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, Puri Jagannath Temple, Chilka Lake, Lingaraj Temple, and the Dhauli Hill Shanti Stupa.
The permanent campus, located at Argul, is approximately 30 km from Bhubaneswar city and 35 km from Biju Patnaik International Airport. Visitors can stay at the on-campus guest houses or in nearby Bhubaneswar, which offers a range of world-class hotels.
